2nd EDITION WINNER
Riccardo Bolo, ITALY
While Donald Trump is undergoing heart surgery, a portal to another reality opens. Latinos start falling from the sky to the desert, on the Mexico – US border, divided by an enormous wall. An hilarious war breaks between a Trump-like mecha robot and several stereotypical Mexican Latinos.
3rd EDITION WINNER
Alejandro Damiani, URUGUAY
The documentary, found on a VHS, tells the story of the Mk3 androids’ rebellion against the human hegemony through the experience of one of them. The opera is an unprecedented example that shows the story from the point of view of the oppressed giving back dignity and humanity to the androids, often relegated to a state of subordination. The steel men’s hopes, dreams, and fears are collected in this archive of the future, that unveils the less-known aspects of the “Siliceous Revolt”.
Robotic Online Short Film Festival (or ROS festival) is a science fiction short film festival planning to focus on robotics related themes.
We want to create a new space for dialogue between art, science and technology through audiovisual media and around the figure of the robot. The online festival provides a good scenario for promoting social reflection, creativity and artistic work around new realities, as well as opportunities and dangers posed by the technological convergence in which we are immersed.
