Jorge Barrero

General Director of Cotec Foundation for Innovation, a private non-profit organization whose mission is to promote innovation as the driving force of economic and social development. Jorge Barrero graduated in Chemistry at the University of Salamanca. He has several Masters’ Degrees related to Biochemistry, on Science, Technology and Society or on the Pharmaceutical Industry, among others. He has held positions of responsibility within different companies and institutions. Most recent to date is his work within the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Science and Innovation or Scientific Advisor at the magazine, ‘Scientific American’, one of the oldest and most important American magazines on science and technological advances in the world.
